There are few things, professionally, that mean more to me than this recognition. At its core, Nelson Schmidt is what this accolade stands for: fiercely independent and proud of it; globally effective with our feet firmly planted in Wisconsin; leading an evolution of the way we approach traditional marketing challenges.
To be recognized means we were, as the announcement read, “judged by this editorial board to be creative and thought leaders in the marketing communications industry.” To be the only agency representing the U.S. and all of North America is a true reflection of the outstanding talent and capabilities of every team member at Nelson Schmidt. This is an honor we won because we’re a team.
That this is also the 10th anniversary of the publication is further testament to the growth and success of indie shops around the world – as the CEO of an independent agency that has chosen to stay that way for more than 45 years, this is encouraging. More than ever, marketers who are seeking new solutions to their global marketing challenges are exploring independent agencies as an alternative. That we’re at the forefront of this sea change makes the recognition all the more meaningful.
So I’m taking this pause – a moment to reflect and soak in this accolade – and to thank every one of the NS team members that have contributed to the recognition. It’s a proud moment for the past and future of Nelson Schmidt and all of the 2016 World’s Leading Independent Agencies.
